About The Position

The Referral Intake Specialist (RIS) plays a crucial role in the organ referral and evaluation process at Donor Network of Arizona. This position involves collaborating with various medical professionals to assess organ donor suitability and enhance the donation process. The RIS is responsible for initial intake and screening of potential organ donors, maintaining donor records, and facilitating family conversations regarding donation when necessary.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience as an EMT-P, LPN, RT, medical scribe, or previous OPO experience.
• 1 year of medical terminology experience.

Nice To Haves

• EMT-P, LPN or RT license
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree or relevant medical certification
• 1-2 years of OPO experience.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the organ referral and evaluation process in collaboration with various medical staff.
• Conduct initial intake and screening of heart beating ventilated (HBV) referrals.
• Assess organ donor suitability and enhance the donation process.
• Maintain donor records and perform electronic medical record entry.
• Facilitate family conversations regarding donation in collaboration with other staff.
• Interact professionally with hospital staff to obtain accurate medical information regarding potential donors.
