About The Position

Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc. (CMHA) is a private non-profit treatment provider headquartered in New Britain, with seven locations throughout the city and in Waterbury. This position will be located at 233 Main St. New Britain, CT 06051. Monday – Friday 8:30am-4:30pm Compensation Range: The salary range for this position starts at $20.00 per hour. Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. Position Summary: The Referral Engagement Specialist responsible for processing referrals to CMHA services. Responsible for ensuring excellent customer service; facilitating adherence to CMHA policies and licensure requirements and engaging referral sources and/or referred clients into treatment.

Requirements

  • Valid DMV License
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience working in an office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Patient Access Representatives to assist with quality control, client satisfaction, and performance management.
  • Attends external events/meetings to promote CMHA services and establish professional relationships with external entities as the “point of contact” for referrals.
  • Receives referrals for treatment from external providers, hospitals, schools, and self-referrals and coordinates scheduling of appointments.
  • Assists with new client registration to ensure accurate information for client management database, including current insurance status, demographics with updated client contact information and responsible party.
  • Collaborates with Program Coordinators and Clinical Directors regarding patient care coordination to access our system of care.
  • Retrieves, copies, and forwards chart/medical record information to facilitate client visit.
  • Answers multi-line phones to screen and route callers, take messages, and schedule appointments to ensure optimum levels of client volume and flow, supporting reception and medical records functions as needed.
  • Inputs all client information in system and ensures information is accurate.
  • Follows up on “Intake/Psychiatric Evaluation no shows” and assesses scheduling problems for the CMHA’s Open Access Center.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
