About The Position

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute is looking to add a detail-oriented and proactive Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless coordination of patient care and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain excellent communication with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $20.00-$34.03. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare software systems and electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently send and follow up on referrals to specialists, hospice care, home health services, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals as required.
  • Coordinate and track all DME orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Handle and monitor prior authorizations for consultations and medications, ensuring all necessary paperwork and approvals are obtained.
  • Assist with Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Paid Leave of Absence (PLO) paperwork, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and external services to facilitate smooth operations and enhance patient satisfaction.
