About The Position

The Practice Referral Coordinator is responsible for requesting, tracking, documenting and obtaining insurance verification, benefits, authorizations and referrals.

Requirements

• Minimum six (6) months of experience in a medical office/practice setting handling insurance verifications, authorizations and referrals.
• High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of computers and scanners.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and professional communication.
• Ability to work independently and direct own work within stated productivity standards.
• Excellent analytical and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC’s mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations and effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of general medical terminology, insurance eligibility processes and procedure and diagnostic coding.
• Bilingual: English/ Spanish
