About The Position

Position Summary: The Referral/Authorization Specialist is primarily responsible for monitoring incoming referrals, gathering information, and working as an intermediary with patients/guarantors, providers, other internal departments, and the health plan representatives to effectively facilitate the clinical review of services in a timely and accurate manor. This position is responsible for supporting the registration role by assisting with timely and accurate patient registration processes. Interviewing patients for all pertinent account information, verifying insurance coverage, identifying need for pre-authorizations and financial counseling, and collecting co-pay, deductible, and self-pay payments as necessary. Ensuring the collection of appropriate signatures for treatment, medical records, and insurance processing. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 40 hours/week (1.0) FTE
  • This shift will be VARIABLE and will be expected to cover registration/ED registration on a scheduled and as needed basis.
