About The Position

Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking experienced Pipe Layers to be based out of our Savannah, GA location. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Requirements

• Must have 2 years of experience as a Pipe Layer in a similar industry
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Reeves Construction Company safety programs to ensure a safe work environment
• Shovel work around trenches
• Lifting pipe and operating compaction devices
• Locate and avoid underground utilities
• Ability to understand and interpret grade information
• Read and interpret grade instruments (example: rules, grade rods, carpenter levels and lasers)
• Ability to work and operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner
• Willingness to work nights and weekends
• Must have a basic knowledge of soil types, trenching and shoring
• Must be able to work independently and carry out detailed instructions
• Must provide own transportation to and from work
