About The Position

The Reentry Services Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Boston Community Justice Support Centers (CJSC), focusing on assisting individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. This position involves conducting outreach to correctional institutions, managing client cases, and facilitating access to various support services, including education, career counseling, and housing assistance. The coordinator aims to create a supportive environment for clients, ensuring they have a familiar contact upon their return to the community, thereby enhancing their reintegration experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field or Lived-Experience required.
• At least two years of experience working with justice-involved populations.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-reach to Massachusetts Correctional Institutions and County House of Corrections to publicize and enroll clients in services.
• Develop rapport with individuals returning from incarceration to facilitate a 'warm-handoff'.
• Greet returning individuals at the CJSC to welcome them home.
• Create and maintain case files for each client, including demographic information and assessments.
• Manage the caseload of all individuals participating in the Ralph Gants Reentry Services Program (RGRSP).
• Coordinate with the CJSC Public Benefits Coordinator to establish essential public benefits for clients.
• Maintain monthly contact with clients for 18 months post-release.
• Provide information about mentoring training to community-based programs.
• Coordinate with community-based mentoring programs to establish connections for clients.
