About The Position

Under general guidance and direction of an administrative supervisor, the Reentry Program Lead coordinates and supports the planning, implementation, and daily operations of correctional and community reentry programming at Weber County Correctional Facility supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration to the community. This position provides guidance and coordination to case management and peer support staff, supports program implementation, facilitates community partnerships, and assists with grants and reporting requirements for evidence-based reentry initiatives designed to improve public safety and reduce recidivism. The Reentry Program Lead maintains expertise in case management and peer support practices and may provide direct client services as needed, while primarily focusing on program coordination, services quality, and cross-system collaboration.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Educational Administration, or other closely related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience in a related field such as criminal justice, behavioral health, social services, case management, program coordination, or community-based human services.
  • Have considerable knowledge of the addiction process, mental health, and the criminal justice system.
  • Have a working knowledge of community resources and systems, as well as knowledge of evidence based principles and practices in correctional settings and how criminogenic needs and risk factors influence recidivism.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to present and communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary team approach.
  • Ability to develop and carry out program services.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community agencies, fellow employees, and individual clients.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for applicants with a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
  • Relevant experience in the addiction, mental health, and/or criminal justice fields.
  • Experience with grant-funded programs and/or contract compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily operations and ongoing development of reentry program(s).
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and technical support to case managers and peer support personnel.
  • Supports implementation of new initiatives, pilot programs, and system improvements related to reentry and social services.
  • Assists in establishing workflows and promoting consistency in service delivery aligned with evidence-based practices.
  • Monitors program processes and identifies opportunities for continuous quality improvement.
  • May carry a limited caseload or provide direct case management services as needed during staffing shortages, program transition periods, or complex case consultation.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, training, and case consultation for assigned staff.
  • Promotes staff adherence to professional standards, documentation requirements, and program fidelity expectations.
  • Ensures services align with criminogenic need reduction and successful reentry outcomes.
  • Reviews complex or high-need cases and provides consultation to staff.
  • Supports interdisciplinary collaboration among correctional, behavioral health, and community partners.
  • Assists in hiring, onboarding, and training new staff.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community partners, behavioral health providers, housing agencies, workforce programs, healthcare systems, and criminal justice stakeholders.
  • Coordinates community engagement activities, including planning and oversight of reentry resource fairs and partner-based service events.
  • Serves as a liaison between facility-based services and community providers.
  • Facilitates cross-system problem solving to improve continuity of care and successful community reintegration.
  • Assists in implementation of grant-funded programs when applicable and supports compliance with federal, state, county, and contractual requirements.
  • Supports data collection, performance measurement, and required program reporting in coordination with administrative leadership.
  • Assists with grant reporting, evaluation activities, audits, and sustainability planning.
  • Contributes to development of policies, procedures, and operational protocols.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
