About The Position

Emerald Transportation Solutions is seeking a skilled Reefer Technician to install, maintain, and repair refrigerated truck units. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our customers’ vehicles while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience with reefer, HVAC, or refrigeration systems strongly preferred.
• Proficient with refrigeration systems, wiring diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a vocational/technical program in refrigeration, HVAC, diesel technology, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on refrigerated truck units.
• Install reefer units, wiring, and related components efficiently and accurately.
• Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA safety regulations, including refrigerant handling.
• Complete accurate service records, work orders, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with production and service teams to reduce downtime and keep units in service.
