About The Position

Join Our Community of Food People! The basic purpose of this position is to provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment. Currently offering a $10,000 retention bonus paid out over two years. Our Reefer Mechanics start at $37.00 - 43.00/hour depending on experience! Requirements

  • Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician
  • TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications
  • Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs
  • Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools
  • Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA & DOT regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet
  • Computer and software experience/ Noregon Diag Equip/A/C Recovery, Etc.
  • Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment
  • Welding ability
  • Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.)
  • Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards
  • Mentor other maintenance shop personnel
  • Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action
  • Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines
  • Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
