About The Position

The Vice President of the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation (REDC) is responsible for leading projects that ensure the availability of economic development sites with appropriate infrastructure. This role involves business recruitment, retention, and expansion, as well as talent and workforce development, under the direction of the REDC President.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial real estate, project management, or local/state economic development.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in business marketing, management, communication, sales, economics, public administration, civil engineering, or urban planning.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology and software, including Microsoft Office and industry-specific programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or completion of the Basic Economic Development Course.
  • Experience with industry-specific software such as Gazelle AI, Lightcast, JobsEQ, Costar, and Impact Data Source.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to ensure REDC land is 'shovel-ready' with necessary infrastructure for economic development projects.
  • Identify and grow knowledge of future land acquisition opportunities and potential private development opportunities.
  • Serve as the key contact with local and DFW real estate, commercial brokerage, and development communities.
  • Act as a liaison between the primary employment community and the City of Rockwall, utilities, and regulatory entities.
  • Manage development and incentive agreement compliance between REDC and various companies.
  • Lead efforts regarding Rockwall Technology Park Association, including managing contracts and coordinating with tenants.
  • Initiate first review of all 'Request for Proposal' documents from site selectors or partner entities.
  • Assist President with business development activities and partner relationships.
  • Support Office Manager and Marketing Coordinator at REDC events.
  • Prepare communication and present to the Board of Directors.
