As a Recycling Specialist, the role involves directing vehicles, ensuring safe operations, and performing various labor tasks at the waste management facility.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor tasks
Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in waste management or a similar role is a plus
Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)

Responsibilities

Sort and segregate recyclable materials such as paper, glass, plastic, and metals from the waste stream
Inspect materials and remove contaminants or non-recyclable items from the conveyor belt
Operate and maintain recycling machinery and equipment, following safety regulations
Place sorted materials into appropriate containers or areas for further processing
Keep the working area clean and free from safety hazards
Follow procedures to ensure the quality of sorted materials
Wear appropriate safety gear and adhere to all safety policies
Report any machinery malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor
