The Church of St. Luke the Beloved Physician seeks a prayerful, visionary rector who can be a spiritual role model. Our next rector will be welcoming and accepting of all people, approachable, and easy to talk to. Our vibrant congregation values inspirational preaching to help us connect the weekly readings with our daily lives and to empower us to live our faith outside of church. We pray for a rector who will provide compassionate pastoral care, guide us in ministry, and engage ecumenically with the larger region. The ideal candidate will also work well with the Vestry, and with them, administer the parish staff effectively. The town of Saranac Lake, surrounded by miles of verdant wilderness in New York State's Adirondack Mountains, boasts good public schools, vibrant and varied arts communities, and a top-notch medical facility. The nearby Adirondack Regional Airport features daily direct flights to New York City and Boston, and the beautiful city of Montreal, Canada, is only a two-hour drive north. Compensation for this job includes a 4-bedroom, 2.5 bath rectory with gardens.
