St. Bartholomew's is a community-oriented church with several initiatives that work together to meet the needs of the people of Fort Smith, including the food pantry and sack lunch program, Angel Tree Program, and many community events like Trunk or Treat. Several holidays during the year where we open up our meals to the community. We are looking for a rector who can be both a preacher and teacher, effectively communicate and engage the congregation in the word of the Lord and its practical application to daily life. The rector should also be a community leader, continuing and expanding ongoing and new community outreach programs for both adults and children, which is essential to expand church membership and to continue as a community leader. The ideal candidate will be personally engaged with the members of the congregation, getting to know church members personally and having a gift for pastoral care and offering help and support for families and individuals. Additionally, the rector should be welcoming and unifying, leading everyone into the life of the parish while maintaining unity of faith and community for the church. An effective leader and advisor with the various parish groups at St. Bartholomew's is also essential for the church to function smoothly and effectively.
