About The Position

The Recruitment Specialist at Clemson University plays a pivotal role in the College of Education, focusing on student recruitment and the development and management of pathways programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Teaching Fellows and Strategic Recruitment, this position is integral to the strategic enrollment growth of the college. The Specialist will collaborate closely with the Director of Undergraduate Student Services and advising staff, forming part of the Undergraduate Student Services Team. This role requires a proactive approach to recruitment, necessitating overnight travel and the ability to perform various duties as assigned. In terms of responsibilities, the Specialist will dedicate 60% of their efforts to Recruitment Program Development and Management. This includes planning for both short-term and long-term strategic enrollment growth, supporting the creation of recruitment materials, and developing communication strategies for admitted students. The Specialist will also be responsible for organizing and executing recruitment events, representing the College of Education at various events, and actively engaging with students through outreach efforts to schools and districts across the state. Building and maintaining relationships with school counselors, community organizations, and educational partners is crucial for success in this role. Another 30% of the role focuses on Pathways Programs Development and Management. The Specialist will promote and manage existing pathways programs, such as Expressway to Tiger Town and Teacher Cadets, while also developing new initiatives aimed at exposing K-12 and technical college students to opportunities within the education profession. This includes advising pathways students, conducting transcript evaluations, and expanding partnerships with educational institutions. Finally, the remaining 10% of the role involves Program Analysis and Reporting. The Specialist will collect and analyze data related to student interactions, applicants, admits, yield, and retention, assessing the effectiveness of the recruitment strategy and implementing continuous improvements based on findings.
