About The Position

The Recruitment Coordinator will collaborate with the EHS Talent and Acquisition team, EHS Human Resource Department, and Regional Management Team to identify candidate needs and placements. This role involves outreach activities, job fair participation, and managing the hiring process through MassCareers, including creating job postings, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews. The coordinator will also provide updates to the Regional Management Team and engage in strategic planning for recruitment and retention.

Requirements

  • Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in business administration, management, or public administration with a focus on program management and coordination.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely and express thoughts logically.
  • Ability to give clear written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Taleo and Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the methods of general report writing.
  • Familiarity with the state classification system and working in a bargaining unit environment.
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles and Commonwealth HR policies.
  • Understanding of EEO, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the hiring process by coordinating job postings and partnering with EHS Employment and Staffing and Talent & Acquisition units.
  • Perform outreach activities with local schools, universities, and staffing agencies; attend job fairs and participate in agency presentations related to recruitment.
  • Provide administrative support before, during, and after job fairs as needed.
  • Prepare, submit, and track new hire IT hardware, network, and software requests in collaboration with EOHHS IT and agency security officer.
  • Coordinate DDS orientation for new hires to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and resources for successful employment.
  • Develop, monitor, and utilize tracking systems to promote effective operations and document compliance with established rules and standards.
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to agency personnel regarding assigned programs to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Review and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of internal operations within the agency.
  • Respond to inquiries from departmental staff regarding oversight and development of assigned systems under the direction of the Director or designee.
  • Recommend changes and support the implementation of procedures and systems to achieve agency program objectives in collaboration with EHS Human Resources.
  • Screen applicants, including phone screening, and assist in scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate and assist with the regional use of staffing agencies by identifying vacancies and monitoring time.
