About The Position

We are looking for an individual that enjoys focusing primarily on recruiting and onboarding to join our HR team! Summary Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field required. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ast least 2 years of employee recruitment or talent acquisition experience including sourcing, interviewing and developing recruitment strategy plans.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; shows strong attention to details.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Illinois Driver's License required. Personal vehicle needed for transportation between PCH sites and for recruitment purposes. Mileage for authorized work-related purposes is reimbursable.

Nice To Haves

  • Recruitment experience from a staffing agency is strongly preferred. Healthcare and social service recruiting experience is also preferred.
  • Prior experience using an ATS and HRIS system preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts meetings with hiring supervisors to discuss the open position, the ideal candidate, recruitment strategies and processes for the search.
  • Utilizes Applicant Tracking System to post job postings on various recruitment sites. Analyzes effectiveness of job postings and adjusts methods as needed.
  • Sources candidates via resume databases, social media platforms, local colleges, universities, and networking sites.
  • Uses an appropriate mix of media to connect with talent communities (phone, email, social media, etc.).
  • Participates in career fairs, online job fairs, and community network events to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Develops appropriate screening criteria and assesses resumes and applications, to pre-screen for hiring supervisors.
  • Conducts initial phone screens to assess candidate skills, experience, salary requirements, availability and interest.
  • Assists with interviewing candidates and checking references
  • Keep candidates engaged throughout the process, ensuring consistent communication on the status of the search.
  • Extends employment offers and communicates important employment information during delivery of offers (e.g., organization's mission, vision, compensation philosophy, benefits, etc.)
  • Communicates the status of each search to the hiring supervisor, providing a consultative approach with recommendations on how to move forward.
  • Ensures that all recruiting processes and procedures meet the needs of the organization and ensure compliance with state and federal reporting requirements
  • Coordinates with the HR Assistant to complete all pre-employment requirements.
  • Plans and facilitates new hire orientation activities collaborating with the HR Team and program supervisors to ensure an effective onboarding plan for all new hires.
  • Follows up with new hires during their introductory period to provide additional training and resources, answer questions, and aid in resolving any position challenges.
  • Partners with employees and supervisors to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
  • Provides performance management support to staff and supervisors, as needed.
  • Processes and administers leave-of-absence requests for FMLA, non-FMLA leave, and workers' compensation, as needed.
  • Assist employees with timekeeping and benefit questions and enrollment.
  • Coordinates all-staff event preparations with the HR team.
  • Participates in developing team goals, objectives and systems.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and services performed.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and organizational training. Completes all training as required.
  • Assists with HR team projects, audits, and other duties as assigned.
