About The Position

Sunshine Pediatric Day Center is a leading pediatric healthcare organization delivering high-quality, family-centered care across Texas. Our Private Duty Nursing (PDN) division supports medically fragile children through skilled, in-home nursing services at varying levels of acuity. The Recruiter & Scheduler – PDN is a critical operational role responsible for full-cycle nurse recruiting and real-time scheduling to support private duty nursing cases. This position requires a highly organized, detail-driven professional with proven experience recruiting PDN nurses and managing schedules across multiple acuity levels . The role is 100% on-site and serves as a central liaison between clinical leadership, nurses, and families.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience recruiting and scheduling nurses in a Pediatric Private Duty Nursing (PDN) environment
  • Demonstrated experience staffing multiple acuity levels (including higher-acuity pediatric cases)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage high-volume requisitions
  • Proficiency with ATS, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site in a corporate office environment
  • Excellent communication skills with nurses, families, and internal stakeholders

  • Experience supporting PDN operations in Texas
  • Familiarity with Medicaid-based PDN staffing requirements
  • Background working in pediatric healthcare or home health organizations

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for PDN nursing roles (RN, LVN/LPN) across multiple pediatric acuity levels
  • Maintain active nurse pipelines for current and anticipated case needs
  • Screen, interview, and coordinate onboarding of qualified PDN nurses
  • Ensure compliance with credentialing, licensing, background checks, and clinical requirements
  • Partner with clinical leadership to align staffing strategy with patient acuity and care plans
  • Schedule nurses to assigned PDN cases based on availability, skill set, and acuity requirements
  • Manage ongoing schedule changes, call-outs, coverage gaps, and urgent staffing needs
  • Maintain accurate schedules within internal systems and ensure timely communication with nurses and families
  • Monitor coverage consistency and proactively address staffing risks
  • Manage and track open requisitions tied to active and pending PDN cases
  • Collaborate with intake, nursing leadership, and operations to align staffing with approved cases
  • Maintain organized documentation related to nurse assignments, case coverage, and staffing metrics
  • Maintain accurate records within applicant tracking and scheduling systems
  • Produce staffing and recruiting reports as requested
  • Support process improvements related to PDN recruitment and scheduling workflows
  • Serve as an in-office point of contact for PDN staffing operations
