About The Position

As our Recreations Supervisor, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and managing all aspects of guest activities and events. Provide leadership, motivation, training, and support to team members. He or she will ensure a safe and fun environment during the many activities for guests within the resort. This is a seasonal position that may require flexible scheduling availability.

Requirements

  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time
  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities
  • Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
  • 6 month customer service experience is preferred
  • Valid Driver's License is preferred
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between management and guests and volunteers
  • Prepare weekly newsletter and distribute to resort guests
  • Market events within or outside the resort to ensure success
  • Prepare food for small events and collaborates with a caterer or on-site chef for larger events when needed
  • Coordinate team member selection and development and ensure team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures
  • Plan, execute, and monitor resort-wide guest activities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the activities department, overseeing that all the functions of the department are running smoothly
  • Plan, coordinate, attend, and supervise all activities such as picnics, sporting events, dances, and dinners
  • Produce a calendar of events for the next calendar season staying within budget expectations
  • Preview, approve, and submit all invoices for payment in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate office and activity supply inventories
  • Organize fundraising activities to support the department
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are kept in good condition
  • Source, screen and hire entertainment acts for dances, special events, and shows within the resort
  • Coordinate with the reservations department when groups and rallies are staying to arrange meeting spaces, special activities, food, and other entertainment needs
  • Prepare end of month and other reports as requested by RV Resort Manager
  • Balance monies collected throughout the day and reconcile to cash register, ensuring to follow Island's cash handling policies and procedures
