We’re looking for a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who shares our mission of helping individuals regain independence, joy, and quality of life through innovative, patient-centered recreation therapy. Position Overview As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, you'll play an essential role in supporting patients within our inpatient unit. Using evidence-based therapeutic recreation strategies, you’ll evaluate and treat individuals with diverse needs, guiding them toward functional independence at home and in the community. This position is ideal for a compassionate, driven clinician who thrives in a team-focused environment and values meaningful outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited program
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) (Must have or obtain certification within 6 months of hire)
• CPR certification (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting
• Strong time management, communication, and team collaboration skills
• High ethical and professional standards with a growth-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized therapeutic recreation plans
• Lead and facilitate recreational activities that restore, enhance, and reinforce cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary care teams to achieve shared goals
• Educate patients and families on the benefits of therapeutic recreation in daily life
• Document patient progress and outcomes in accordance with department standards
• Prioritize safety, dignity, and holistic wellness in all aspects of care.
