About The Position

The position is for a Part Time Day Shift role at Geisinger Marworth, requiring a Bachelor's Degree and previous related experience preferred. The role includes ongoing assessments of patients' functional levels and conducting activities to maximize patient care and satisfaction. Responsibilities also include developing and updating recreational policies, charting requirements, and maintaining recreation equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Previous related experience preferred.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
• First Aid Certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Skills in communication, patient safety, patients' rights, teamwork, and therapeutic treatment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and conducts therapeutic recreational activities.
• Provides ongoing assessments of patients' functional levels.
• Conducts activities to maximize patient care and satisfaction.
• Coordinates year-round activities focusing on trust, community unity, and sober leisure skills.
• Develops, reviews, and updates recreational policies and procedures.
• Completes charting requirements and updates activities schedule.
• Develops and incorporates activity services into patient treatment plans.
• Orders and maintains inventory of recreation equipment and supplies.
• Inspects equipment regularly to ensure safety.
• Conducts wellness lectures and staff in-service programs.
• Potentially supervises recreation therapy student interns.
• Consults with medical staff to determine patients' physical restrictions.
