About The Position

The Recreational Sports Director is responsible for organizing and implementing recreational programs for youth and adults at the YMCA of Greater Montgomery Soccer Branch. This role involves managing team formation, game scheduling, and coach development, while also focusing on player retention and recruitment strategies. The Director will ensure a positive member experience and will be required to travel extensively to promote programs throughout the community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPR, First Aid, and AEDYMCA Safety Trainings required within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and implement all recreational youth and mini-soccer programs.
• Create teams/rosters, schedule games, order uniforms and awards, secure coaches, and conduct coaches meetings.
• Develop partnerships with local schools, churches, and daycare centers.
• Attend recreational games to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Conduct clinics for local churches and youth programs to market recreational programs.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise part-time staff and volunteer coaches.
• Design and develop marketing materials for each program.
• Conduct end-of-season surveys for each program.
• Prepare and manage the annual budget for recreational soccer programs.
• Communicate positively and effectively with participants, volunteers, and staff.
• Promote and ensure smooth operation of all programs with high service levels.
• Create a welcoming environment for members and participants.
• Assist with major events hosted by the YMCA at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex or Indoor Arena.
• Secure team sponsorships for recreational teams.
• Assist in the Annual Campaign.
