About The Position
CITY OF STAUNTON Substitutes: Recreational Program Aide: 2025-26 The City of Staunton Parks & Recreation has a great part-time opportunity to join our HEART family. The HEART (Healthy Environmental Afterschool Recreational Time) program has been in operation for over 35 years and is a quality after school program that many families trust and rely on. When called upon, Substitute Program Aides work as part of a team to supervise children and youth in our after school childcare programs and activities. Program includes educational and recreational activities, free play, and arts and crafts at each Staunton elementary school. Aides interact with children, assist with homework, assist with snack preparation and are required to attend mandatory staff training and development. Previous experience working with children preferred. Applicants must be of good character and reputation. Flexible afternoon availability required so that you may fill in when requested. Successful completion of all required background checks and possession of a valid driver's license and good driving record required. Hours: M-F 2pm-6pm. Rate of pay: $15.00/hour.
