About The Position

The Recreation & Wellness Attendant supports the daily operations of the Sports Barn and Recreation & Wellness Department by providing exceptional member services, maintaining fitness and racquet facilities, assisting with program delivery, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role ensures consistent operational standards, supports scheduling and member reservations, and represents the department with professionalism through in-person, phone, and email interactions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in recreation, fitness, wellness, or hospitality preferred.
• Efficient in Microsoft Office.
• CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all members and guests.
• Assist with answering phones, responding to emails, and handling reservations.
• Support daily facility operations, including opening, mid-shift, and closing duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gym, racquet courts, pool area, and locker rooms.
• Ensure proper cleaning and care of all fitness equipment.
• Monitor safety in all areas and know locations of first aid supplies and AEDs.
• Use member website to view class and clinic schedules, and assist members book classes, clinics, and private training sessions.
• Help with classes, clinics, events, and general program support as needed.
• Assist with basic marketing tasks (monthly emails, promotions) under direction of the Director.
