About The Position

The Recreation Therapy Manager at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services leads the Recreation Therapy department, overseeing programs and staff while developing therapeutic activities for patients. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.
• One year of Recreation Therapy experience.
• One year of previous management experience preferred.
• Current certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation (CTRS).
• Current licensure by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy (LRT).
• Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of mental health diagnosis, terminology, and treatment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in managing recreational therapy programs.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic activities and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Recreation Therapy department and manage its programs and staff.
• Set and implement guidelines for recreational therapy programs.
• Develop patient programs in areas such as social interaction, theater, games, crafts, art, music, and animal therapy.
• Provide input to strategic decisions affecting the department.
• Assist in department budget development.
• Resolve escalated operational issues in coordination with other departments.
• Communicate patient care results to the treatment team.
• Carry a caseload and provide therapeutic recreation and activity services to patients.
• Manage direct report staff including scheduling, timekeeping, coaching, and hiring.
