About The Position
Recreation Therapist Per Diem Our client, a leading senior living facility located in Southern Westchester County, has engaged us to assist them in finding a dedicated and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join their outstanding care team. As a Recreation Therapist, you will help deliver engaging, therapeutic programming that brings joy, purpose, and connection to the residents and patients every day, while working collaboratively as a team member, embracing a high level of care, compassion and teamwork. Position Overview: Design and lead therapeutic recreation programs that support residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being Facilitate a wide range of activities including arts, music, fitness, intergenerational programming, and social events Provide individualized and group interventions aligned with care plans and resident interests Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, therapy, social work) to enhance resident outcomes Encourage participation and build meaningful relationships with residents and families Document participation and progress in compliance with regulatory standards Support special events, outings, and innovative programming initiatives
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with older adults
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Experience in a skilled nursing, rehab, or long-term care setting strongly preferred
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field a plus
- CTRS certification (or eligibility) a plus
