About The Position

This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the operations of the Osage Centre, recreational programming, special event and sports league management.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of building maintenance and gym floor care.
  • Knowledge of facility operations, maintenance and cleanliness standards and safety practices
  • Knowledge of risk management procedures.
  • Knowledge of sports rules and current trends in recreation.
  • Knowledge of food management, concessions operations, liquor control, and Health Code Regulations.
  • Skill in the operation of computers and various software programs.
  • Knowledge of organizing and planning recreational programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and organizational skills.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of Child Labor Laws
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with three years experience or service.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Before final appointment, successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a drug test, background investigation, and pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the operation of the Osage Centre including scheduling, assisting with maintenance operations, cleaning procedures, recreation operations, and developing and implementing facility policies.
  • Assists in the development of operational budgets and effectively tracks budget expenditures and revenue to meet organizational goals.
  • Participates in long range planning for facilities.
  • Recruits, hires, trains and supervises, personnel.
  • Develops employee schedules and completes accurate payroll reports to ensure budgetary compliance.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates sports leagues, camps, clinics, recreation programs, tournaments, etc. that meet the needs of the community and are inclusive of a variety of interests and demographics.
  • Through proper training and communication, ensures all staff follow facility policies and safety protocols.
  • Develops positive relationships with building renters and assists in recruiting additional renters from various organizations or independent parties.
  • Promotes programs and facilities through social media, web sites, flyers and informational brochures, newsletters and community outreach.
  • Manages the operations of the Osage Centre.
  • Develops positive relationships with community leaders and users of the facility.
  • Coordinates and oversees facility rental contracts and event logistics at the Osage Centre ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.
  • Provides general oversight of Osage Centre food concession operations.
  • Assists in coordinating Recreation Division special events, activities, and leagues.
  • Works evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Responds to after-hours calls as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Salary $49,478 per year, plus a generous benefit package.

  • Total compensation value (salary plus benefit value) for this position is $69,177.13 yearly.
