Job Summary The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Recreation Sports Facilities Student Assistant - Institutional Student Worker on the Gainesville campus. Campus Recreation & Wellness (CRW) Operations is looking to hire a sport and fitness minded student assistants. Student staff will report to the CRW Associate Director and be responsible for assisting with the overall function and operation of the department including but not limited to the reception desk/ access control, fitness center, game room, outdoor recreation, and special events.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
• Must be a current student in good standing at the University of North Georgia with a minimum 2.5 GPA to qualify as a Campus Recreation & Wellness student worker.
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain upon employment).
• Strong desire to excel in promoting fitness, related special events, sports (including E-sports).

Nice To Haves

• Must have a strong interest in fitness, sports, and recreation.
• Game Room and gaming computer familiarity.
• Experience exercising and familiarity with the machines in a fitness center environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all patrons
• Access monitoring
• Customer Service
• Orient patrons with facilities, equipment and gym etiquette
• Clean and sanitize common work space, Fitness equipment
• Circulate the facilities inspecting and organizing the gymnasium, outdoor courts, and fitness center.
• Maintain sports equipment and log usage
• Assist with promoting fitness, recreation and wellness programs
