Are you ready to make a difference in adolescent Lives? Job Details General Summary: This position works under the direction of the Recreation Director. Provides a general recreation program for all patients. This is a safety sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, licensed associates and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Basic understanding of calculation of figures
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Good driving skills and a valid Arkansas drivers license and eligibility for agency insurance required.
  • Paraprofessional certification is required within 30-90 days of employment with training provided on site.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, see, walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to personally restrain patients.
  • Must maintain a current tuberculosis skin test.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience with emotionally disturbed youth preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and leads school recreation classes
  • Leads recreation therapy groups as assigned.
  • Assists to ensure that the recreation program is an integral part of treatment.
  • Assists in planning and implementing special events.
  • Assists in implementing Community Reintegration Program.
  • Completes weekly program notes.
  • Completes leisure skills assessments.
  • Completes Incident Reports and DYS reports.
