About The Position

Commercial Recreation Specialists (CRS) aims to inspire the human spirit through recreation by providing comprehensive recreation solutions. They are not just a vendor but a resource that measures success by customer success, striving to maximize business potential. The New Jersey Recreation Specialist will be responsible for identifying opportunities to consult organizations in New Jersey on park and recreation projects. This involves working with municipalities, civil engineers, landscape architects, schools, developers, churches, aquatic centers, and other recreation facilities. The specialist will advise, consult, design, sell, and install products such as splashpads, playgrounds, shade/shelter structures, and site amenities, ensuring they meet the clients' recreation needs and budget. The role also includes understanding client business goals, estimating project costs, closing deals, and managing accounts. The position is part of a larger team including product specialists, landscape architects, project coordinators, a marketing team, and installers, supported by manufacturer resources.

  • Able to meet all physical requirements of routine office work and occasional site work
  • Able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • Viewing of computer screens for high portion work periods during office work
  • Provide vehicle for this position

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the recreation market and/or selling to municipalities, resorts, parks, recreation centers and the like
  • Experience with and understanding of construction process, documentation, RFP/bid processes
  • Comfort with mechanicals, electrical, plumbing, concrete, computers
  • College degree (in engineering, construction management, landscape architecture, or related field a plus)
  • Experience with CAD design software

Responsibilities

  • Finding opportunities to consult organizations in New Jersey on their upcoming park and recreation projects
  • Working with municipalities (Parks & Rec, Mayors, City Administrators), "specifiers" (Civil Engineers and Landscape Architects), schools, developers, churches, aquatic centers, recreation facilities, and other interested parties to advise, consult, design, sell and install products
  • Understanding the clients' business goals/operations/budgets
