About The Position

In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes, the Wellness and Recreation team manages multiple fitness and recreation facilities and coordinates a variety of on- and off-campus recreation and wellness education programming. Alongside professional staff and in collaboration with other team members, the Recreation Programming Assistant is responsible for coordinating on and off-campus recreation events to promote student community building and well-being. All Recreation Programming Assistants are members of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs.

Requirements

  • Off Campus Recreation Programming Assistant (2) - Must have Friday availability from 6am-11pm
  • Panther Sports Tournament Recreation Programming Assistant (1) Must have Friday availability from 6am-11pm
  • Camping Gear Recreation Programming Assistant (1) Must have availability to cover two camping gear check-in and two check-out shifts per week Ex.) Check-out: Thursday-Friday Ex.) Check-in: Monday-Tuesday
  • Marketing Recreation Programming Assistant (1) N/A

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise off campus recreation programs including but not limited to hikes, water/snow sports, overnight camping trips, etc.
  • Attend a weekly recreation team meeting
  • Implement survey assessments based on program effectiveness to meet Wellness and Recreation area goals
  • Meet regularly with the Graduate Assistant of Recreation Programming to discuss programming progress and logistics
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise on campus Panther Sports Tournaments including but not limited to volleyball, basketball, pickleball, soccer, kickball, spikeball, etc.
  • Manage, organize and track camping gear inventory on a weekly basis
  • Oversee check-in and check-out of the camping gear process
  • Communicate with students and supervisors of any violations throughout the camping gear process
  • Reorder damaged or missing camping gear equipment and regularly restock supplies
  • Create digital signage, flyers and Instagram posts for all on and off campus recreation programs
  • Table on a bi-weekly basis to market recreation events and programs
  • Post flyers throughout campus approved locations
  • Prepare weekly recreation announcements for upcoming events and programs
  • Meet regularly with the Graduate Assistant of Recreation Programming to discuss and approve marketing efforts
