Works under the supervision of the Recreation Manager, Recreation Programs Supervisors and Recreation Sports Supervisor. No supervision is exercised in this position. Performs a variety of customer service and front desk duties for the recreation division. Assists in the creation and organization of various passive and active recreation programs, cultural arts, special interest classes, and special events for patrons of all ages. Provides leadership and supervision to various passive and active recreation programs, classes, and special events. Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public. Supervises the facility and the safety of the participants using the facility during public and private events. Must be able to take charge and direct children in case of an emergency. Receives fees for various recreational activities and building rentals. Greets visitors to the facility and directs them to the appropriate areas. Gives information to the public regarding all adult and youth recreation programs and leagues throughout the year. Answers and screens incoming calls and takes messages for all recreation division facilities. Responsible for opening and preparing facilities for daily operations. Responsible for closing and securing facilities at night. Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
