The Recreation Office Coordinator for Adaptive Recreation at the Hilyard Community Center is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of recreational and social programs for individuals with disabilities. This role involves overseeing clerical tasks, managing temporary staff, and ensuring a welcoming environment for community members. The coordinator will play a key role in facilitating programs, managing finances, and providing excellent customer service to patrons.

  • Perform and oversee clerical tasks to support facility activities, including front desk reception and program registration.
  • Schedule, assign, and train temporary employees and volunteers for front desk coverage and clerical support duties.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, monitor payments, and manage purchase orders.
  • Reconcile program registration and rental income, make deposits, and track refunds and cancellations.
  • Maintain inventory and account for petty cash funds, including distribution and replenishment.
  • Assist with the creation of financial and activity reports as requested.
  • Attend meetings and take meeting minutes as needed.
  • Support diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Two years of full-time general office experience.
  • Customer service skills and knowledge of recreation programs are desirable.
  • Prior experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • First Aid/C.P.R. certificate or ability to obtain within six months.
