About The Position

Responsible for front desk operations. Assists with servicing the general public at the front desk in an efficient and courteous manner with regard to registration for programs and membership sales, facility usage, preparing photo ID's, answering the telephone, issuing equipment and other assignments deemed necessary to perform the job.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 30 - 60 college credit hours preferred.
  • One year combined customer service experience and supervisor training preferred with at least 3 months experience at THE HEIGHTS or with a RecTrac operated facility.
  • Ability to supervise staff and facility operations.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations.
  • Must maintain proper appearance and behavior.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors, co-workers and public.
  • Ability to be trained on new techniques and jobs.
  • Ability to function efficiently under stress related factors consistent with the position.
  • Ability to work days, evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to handle large sums of money and keep accurate records.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written form.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Supervisor on Duty in the absence of full-time building staff.
  • Understands and enforces policies & procedures governing facility use and emergencies.
  • Operates computer point of sales, registration, and credit card machine.
  • Performs opening and closing register procedures in an efficient and orderly manner.
  • Provides customer service to the general public in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Disseminates information about programs, special events, facility memberships, policies and procedures in a courteous and effective manner.
  • Answers the telephone in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for the sale of I.D.'s, point of sale items and program registration.
  • Performs computer data entry and other front desk responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintains work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Informs supervisor of all information regarding the facility, staff and general public.
  • Notifies supervisor of supply needs or equipment repair.
  • Attends all staff meetings and training as required.
  • Performs special projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assists other departments as needed to implement city-wide activities.
  • Provides facility tours to potential members.
