About The Position
The Cosumnes Community Services District is seeking to hire part-time extra help staff for the position of Recreation Leader for Youth Development, specifically focusing on Before/After School Care, Preschool, and Teens. Under close supervision, the Recreation Leader will assist in planning and conducting a wide variety of recreational and educational activities and programs. These programs may include day camps, youth and adult sports, leisure and enrichment classes, and special events tailored to the assigned program area. The Recreation Leader will oversee and direct the activities of participants at the site, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all involved. The role requires the Recreation Leader to assist in the planning, implementation, and leadership of various recreation programs. This includes following cash handling procedures, setting up and taking down equipment, and ensuring that all supplies are properly stored and secured. The Recreation Leader is responsible for providing a safe and clean environment, adhering to guidelines from the Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD) and Department policies. Additionally, the position involves providing courteous and professional service to all program participants, facility users, CSD personnel, and the public. The Recreation Leader must arrive on time and in proper attire as required by CSD guidelines, and will be accountable for all program participants during program hours. Responsibilities also include monitoring participant behavior, conducting facility setup and cleanup, enforcing program rules and regulations, attending staff meetings and trainings, and completing necessary reports and forms. The position requires adherence to safety standards and the CSD Injury and Illness Prevention Program, and may involve communication with parents and the public regarding program operations.
