About The Position

The Recreation Leader works directly with other departmental staff members to provide assistance in the administration of programs and activities such as the Afterschool Program, Alta Vista Community Center, Teen Programs, and Senior Programs. We also have summertime seasonal opportunities available for cashiers and maintenance staff at Seaside Lagoon. This post is continuous and may close at any time without notice. This is a part-time/seasonal, non-exempt, hourly position designated as at-will and ineligible for City benefits.

Responsibilities

• Participating in staff trainings and meetings
• Promoting the program
• Recruiting participants
• Keeping accurate records
• Ensuring participant safety
• Planning, organizing, leading, and supervising daily activities
• Leading group games, sports, arts and crafts, special events and contests
• Performing other related duties as assigned

Benefits

• Salary at $16.00/hr. to $17.00/hr. depending on qualifications
• Opportunity to promote to part-time Assistant Recreation Coordinator and/or part-time Program Coordinator based on work experience and performance
