About The Position
Under direct supervision, provides bike education to all city of Chicago residents.
Requirements
- High School or an equivalent certification (GED) is required but may be waived for seasonal employees who are referred through special hiring programs.
- Candidates for this position must have reached their 16th birthday at time of hire.
- Ability to work with individuals or groups of children from ages 3 years old and older
- Basic knowledge of bike education including safety, awareness, and maintenance
- Effective oral communication skills
- Ability to enforce safety rules
- Ability to assist and lead in large group presentations
Responsibilities
- Travels to different parts of the city to provide assistance with presentations in bike safety and awareness.
- Provides one-on-one lessons for the Learn to Ride series.
- Assist in Chicago Park District and Chicago Department of Transportation events.
