OVERVIEW OF ROLE (Gymnastics) Under direct supervision, take a collaborative approach in developing our athletes and show a strong commitment to our participants and coworkers. This position offers the chance to join an inspired and dedicated coaching staff and become an integral part of our team. The Parks and Recreation department is seeking Gymnastics Instructors to work in Ongoing/Varied roles for our rec centers. We will be hiring multiple employees based on our programs and hours of operation through mid-March. Ongoing/Varied: Work less than 20 hours/week with no planned end date to work. GYMNASTICS ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teaches gymnastics to preschool children ages 2 - 5 years old. Teaches school-aged, recreational gymnastics, ages 6 and older. Sets up equipment, maintain roll sheets, and communicate with parents. Takes proper safety precautions, anticipate unsafe circumstances, and act accordingly to prevent accidents and injuries. Enforces rules, regulations, and policies; maintains safety, order and discipline of participants, and/or customers. Performs customer relations role which may include interacting with parents, participants, program partners, and/or city staff to provide information and solve problems. Works as part of a team, attending training, orientation and/or staff meeting as needed Assists with coaching Xcel girls’ teams or boys’ competitive program after proven job performance or experience.
