About The Position

The Recreational Fee Technician position is a permanent, full-time career-seasonal role within the Department of the Interior, specifically located at Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park in Moab, UT. The role involves collecting fees at entrance stations and campgrounds, preparing daily remittances, and ensuring the safeguarding and accounting of funds. The position requires interaction with the public, providing information, and resolving complaints, while also operating various electronic payment systems and assisting in training new staff.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Valid driver's license required for operating government vehicles.
• Ability to handle, collect, and account for money.
• At least one year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-4 level in the Federal service, or a combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in customer service and public interaction.
• Familiarity with financial/accounting software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Collect fees at entrance stations and campgrounds.
• Prepare daily remittances and account for funds.
• Operate electronic cash registers and credit card machines.
• Provide information and answer questions from the public.
• Resolve complaints and conflicts, referring issues to supervisors when necessary.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new employees and volunteers.
• Troubleshoot issues with fee program-related technologies and equipment.
• Process reservation arrivals and departures, including creating, modifying, or canceling reservations.
• Transport collected revenue and donations to the central remit office or authorized locations.
