About The Position

The Recreation Coordinator is a member of the Employment Services Team, under the supervision of the ISP/Records & Systems Manager leads an adaptive recreational and social activities for individuals 16 years and older in a 7 day a week program. Ensures the highest level of excellence of support is provided to individuals with development disabilities during their activities in the community. Provide reliable and courteous transportation to individuals with safety a top priority. Ability to effectively use all technology (i.e. IPADS, computers, smartboard etc.) and software (i.e. Therap, Vertex, Zoom, Microsoft office etc.) required for the position.

Requirements

  • Valid drivers' license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Obtain, and maintain, certification in First Aid, CPR, and Drivers' Safety, Safety Care, Medication Certification and other mandated trainings.
  • Must be able to work independently while demonstrating effective time management, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Associates Degree in Human Services, Business Management or Business Certificate in related field proficient in MS Suite, with heavy emphasis on Excel, Word and MS Teams. Strong communication, organizational skills, leadership ability, and proficiency in computer software for scheduling/reporting.
  • 2 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities or High school diploma / GED and 5-year experience working with individuals with disabilities

Responsibilities

  • Immediately reporting unsafe incidents or unsafe working conditions when they occur to your supervisor.
  • Completing assigned work, schedules and projects correctly, legibly and in a timely manner.
  • Responding appropriately to emergency situations, following agency policies and procedures.
  • Complete the orientation and training of new families and staff members to recreation.
  • Supervise staff working recreation activities and consistently working in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff.
  • Complete an accurate "Monthly" recreation schedule including pricing with the monthly recreation calculator on or before the due date each month of the year
  • Complete an accurate "Quarterly" After program schedule including pricing with the quarterly recreation calculator on or before the due date each quarter of the year
  • Plan monthly and quarterly supply orders and submit to supervisor at least 2 weeks prior to the session start date.
  • Assist in the registration process by contacting families/houses, once the class list has been finalized, and informing them that their person is confirmed or have been put on a wait list for the activity.
  • Complete a Special Event form for every on and off-site special event. (see procedures)
  • Complete the cash envelope after all activities assuring writing is legible and money and receipts are accurate.
  • Assure Recreation backpack is stocked and all requires items are in place and are not expired.
  • Submit check request for money needed for special events no later than the Thursday prior to the week needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of office, event areas and recreation storage in the basement.
  • Use vacation during weeks when recreation is not on session.
  • Cross Train as a back up to cover ES/CBDS sites
