About The Position
The Recreation Assistant position at the United States Space Force, located at Buckley AFB, CO, involves a variety of duties aimed at supporting the daily operations of the fitness center. The role is essential in maintaining order and enforcing policies, procedures, and safety rules within the facility. Responsibilities include preparing the facility for operation, securing it at night, and managing the reservation system for sports courts and fields. The assistant will also be responsible for preparing league schedules, promoting programs, and maintaining records of inventory and supplies. In addition to administrative tasks, the Recreation Assistant will assist with the maintenance of lockers and ensure cleanliness in locker rooms and restrooms. The role requires compliance with safety and fire procedures, as well as performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on fitness equipment. The assistant will also play a key role in physical conditioning programs by demonstrating proper equipment usage and safety techniques, serving as an exercise weight assistant, and instructing group fitness classes. The position requires the collection of fees for services and merchandise, preparation of daily cashier reports, and ensuring all financial transactions are recorded and safeguarded. The Recreation Assistant will work closely with patrons, advising them on proper workout programs and assisting in the development of individual and group exercise plans.
