The Recreation Assistant supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic recreational activities tailored to each participant’s care plan. This role enhances the participant experience through engaging programs that promote socialization, physical activity, and lifelong learning. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate Trinity Health’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Guiding Behaviors in all interactions. Create a warm, welcoming environment for participants, caregivers, and staff. Plan and lead group and individual activities, including dementia-specific programming. Support participants’ cognitive, physical, social, and artistic development. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless activity delivery. Maintain accurate documentation and assist in developing care plans and monthly calendars. Monitor and manage recreational supplies and equipment. Provide training and support to staff on recreational programming. Develop quarterly newsletters for participants and caregivers.
