Works under the supervision of the Recreation Sports Supervisor. Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public. Assists the Recreation Sports Supervisor in preparing athletic program notebooks, compiling scores and prepares various types of reports. Supervises various recreation facilities throughout the year. Performs the duties of opening and closing press boxes, turning on and off sports field lights. Assists Recreation Sports Supervisor in supervising baseball, softball, basketball, flag football and volleyball scorekeepers and officials. Assist the Recreation Sports Supervisor in various capacities for all athletic special events and tournaments. May serve as a court monitor, scorekeeper or an official when necessary. Supervises Recreation Center personnel in the absence of Recreation Manager and Recreation Sports Supervisor. Performs duties of Recreation Leader during absences. Performs duties of Sports Complex Supervisor during absences. May assist with other recreation programs and any departmental special event as necessary. Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City. Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
