About The Position

Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator & the Recreation and Wellness Administrator, will assist in leading youth recreation activities. Assists in administering daily after school programs and Wellness Program activities. Requirements

  • Ability to work with adults and children.
  • Ability to successfully interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions without supervision.
  • Ability to supervise and facilitate groups of all ages.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with people.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information.
  • Knowledge of policies, rules and regulations governing the conduct and safety of persons using Tribal recreational facilities, programs and equipment.
  • Skills in planning and performing duties in an organized, detailed-oriented manner.
  • Skills in promoting and enforcing safe work practices.
  • Skills in problem-solving, customer service and negotiations.
  • Ability to move supplies and operate equipment as assigned.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have or be willing to work towards CPR certification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation and character investigation in compliance with PL 101.630.
  • Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors individuals using facilities to include operation and safety of equipment.
  • Assists and supervises children with recreational/educational activities and field trips.
  • Assists the Recreation Coordinator as requested.
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned scheduled each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
