About The Position
The candidate will be assigned to one or more specialized recreational activities within the Semper Fit Program. The role involves performing and assisting in the operation of recreation activities, applying an understanding of the interests and needs of program participants. Typical assignments may include establishing schedules of events, applying rules and regulations in supervising assigned participants in indoor and outdoor activities, setting up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, scheduling and conducting tours and field trips. The incumbent will demonstrate procedures common to the activities and instruct in the use of related equipment. Additionally, the candidate will help plan and coordinate details of recreational activities and maintain related supplies, as well as assist in planning, scheduling, and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants. The role may also involve overseeing the sale of retail items associated with activities and ensuring adherence to safety rules and regulations. Providing World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy is essential, as is the ability to assist customers and communicate positively in a friendly manner. The candidate will take action to solve problems quickly and report any observed workplace hazards or incidents to the immediate supervisor. The position requires adherence to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Other related duties may be assigned.
