About the position

The position involves performing and assisting in the operation and upkeep of the golf course pro shop. Responsibilities include providing patrons with guidance for selecting equipment and merchandise, recommending appropriate levels of golf instruction, and encouraging interest in scheduled golf events and tournaments. The role also includes scheduling tee times, golf clinics, lessons, and tournaments, assisting patrons with golf club rentals, assigning golf carts, selling merchandise, and processing special orders. Additionally, the incumbent will instruct and enforce course safety rules, monitor inventory, ensure merchandise is presentable, and maintain the golf shop in a clean and orderly condition. The position requires operating a Point-of-Sale (POS) system, handling cash and credit transactions, performing end-of-shift cash outs, and general housekeeping duties in the pro shop.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation and upkeep of the golf course pro shop.
  • Provide patrons guidance for selection of equipment and merchandise.
  • Recommend appropriate level of golf instruction to interested patrons.
  • Encourage patron interest in scheduled golf events and tournaments.
  • Schedule tee times, golf clinics, lessons, and tournaments.
  • Assist patrons with golf club rental and assign golf carts.
  • Sell golf shop merchandise and process patron special orders.
  • Instruct and enforce course safety rules and regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend merchandise to be sold.
  • Ensure merchandise is clean, presentable, and properly priced.
  • Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and record sales.
  • Perform end-of-shift cash out and turn in sales records.
  • Maintain the golf shop in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Occasionally clean rental clubs.
  • Ensure only authorized patrons use the golf course and its facilities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Shift work is required to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Non-U.S. National who has resided in the U.S. Territory for three or more consecutive years.
