About The Position

Our Job Corps programs provide life-changing services that help young people succeed in school, obtain good jobs, excel in their chosen fields, and serve as contributing members of their communities. We accomplish this through an intense commitment to safety, quality service, excellence, and partnerships. Assists in organizing, conducting, and supervising recreation and leisure time activities for students. Assists in planning and promoting all activities so students can make choices as to how to use leisure time for students. Promotes and engages student participation in Community Service. Ensures safe transport of students occurs timely. Assists in ensuring events are available; ensures adequate equipment, supplies, or other resources for successful events. Assists in maintaining active communication with other community and governmental sources including Fine Arts, Theater, Choral, Drama, Sports, Education and Training, Community Colleges, and volunteer organizations; contacts are reported weekly. Ensures receipts/unused funds are returned to account fully for amount received. Accounts for monetary expenditures by submitting all necessary student excursion sheets, appropriate receipts, and unused funds. Assists in ensuring programs stay within funding limits. Enforces all procedures regarding property/equipment. Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills. Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property. Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility. Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning. Attends all required staff training opportunities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of related experience working with youth required.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
