Plano Parks and Recreation is looking for Recreation Aides. Below is a listing of the primary job responsibilities: Provides outstanding customer service. Provides information regarding recreation facilities, programs, events, and memberships. Assist in monitoring and enforcing policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Registers patrons for recreation programs and memberships; advises patrons of available programs and services; verifies membership status. Takes money for programs, memberships, reservations, and point of sale items. Prepares rooms for program activities, meetings, and events. Looking for a highly motivated individual with a positive energy to open our facility during the weekdays. This individual will have the pleasure of opening our facility at 5am with an inviting and enthusiastic smile. In being the City of Excellence, we are seeking an individual who is consistent, responsible, and self-motivated. Other qualities we are looking for include exceptional customer service, a good listener, and the ability to stay engaged during down time. Summary of Duties: Under close supervision, the Recreation Aide is responsible for providing assistance and support in the supervision of recreation programs, operations, and recreation center areas. Hours for this position are Thursday and Friday 4:30AM - 11:30AM, some after hour rentals Saturdays 6:30PM - 8:30PM.

  • Registers patrons for recreation programs and memberships; advises patrons of available programs and services; verifies membership status.
  • Takes money for programs, memberships, reservations, and point of sale items.
  • Prepares rooms for program activities, meetings, and events.
  • Participates in cleaning equipment and facilities; restocks and maintains the organization of merchandise for sale.
  • Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule is essential.
  • Knowledge of: Parks and recreation policies and procedures; safety regulations policies, and practices; conflict resolution methods.
  • Skill in: Communicating clearly both verbally and in writing; completing basic mathematic calculations; interacting tactfully and professionally with the public and parks and recreation patrons.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Six (6) months of previous customer service experience.
  • Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements
  • Licenses and Certifications: None. Ability to obtain CPR/AED certification within six months of employment.
  • Must pass a drug test, driver license check, criminal history background check, periodic CJIS background check (for positions requiring access into Police buildings) and social security number verification check.
