The Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 5-star, 460-bed facility providing services for short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, home care programs, a ventilator dependent care, palliative and hospice care, a new Memory Care Unit and on-site dialysis. The Gurwin Family of Healthcare Services also includes the 201-apartment Gurwin Jewish~ Fay J. Lindner Residences assisted living community, and Fountaingate Gardens independent living community located on the Commack campus. Our Assisted Living Community is currently seeking an on-call Recreation Aide who will embody the passion and commitment required to continue our reputation of providing the gold standard of excellence in assisted living.

Requirements

• One year prior experience working with an adult population in Recreation in a healthcare setting.
• Special interest in and positive attitude about working with the elderly.
• Adhere to the highest level of customer service for seniors.

Nice To Haves

• Assistive Living experience.
• Specialization in areas such as music, art, arts & crafts, and dance.

Responsibilities

• Implement the daily activities and programs as set forth by the Director of Recreation.
• Relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.

Benefits

• $21.42 bi-weekly compensation.
