About The Position

Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units. Thank you for considering our Recreation/Activity Therapist CTRS position as we continue our successful opening! The Activity/Recreation Therapist is responsible to assess, educate and develop recreational, social, leisure and daily living skills. The Recreation Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing unit activity services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Certified Therapy and Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation.

Responsibilities

• Assess, educate and develop recreational, social, leisure and daily living skills.
• Plan and implement unit activity services for assigned program.
• Define and implement treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.
